Casting talent is arguably the most critical step for any photo. We take pride in our casting ability...finding that special glimmer in someone for our specific roll. Talent should still look similar, if not exactly like their composite. Please spare us the shaved head or new facial tattoo. One would hope that the selected talent from the composite pull arrives at the casting and is available the shoot day. We photographed three individual men to combine into one (last man on right). Our subjects needed to be angled, sized and lighted exactly the same. The most critical aspect for the art director, Rick Edwards and I to consider was that each man needed the same basic expression and attitude. We successfully retouched certain features of each man that resulted in a no-name superman for anonymity (without a Picasso effect). We could not have done it without fantastic model talent.
