Message In A Bottle When compiling the many pieces for “liveoutsidethebottle.com", we knew that it was going to involve design, production, and one really great message. We created our final scene using our blend of self-designed project management magic. We began by initiating our typical “Don Levey” casting, which our model agencies have developed a love/ hate relationship towards over the years. Probably because of the demanding, but theatrical nature of our work...we want actors, not just models. After deciding upon our liquor bottle, which had no added embossing, our final design for the “portable inside of bottle” had grown from concept to reality. We wanted to create the appearance of pressure upon our actor’s hands. This was done by using clear plastic sheets, which applied pressure to the backs of the hands with small bungee cords. Therefore anywhere their hands were placed it would appear as if they were pressing against a bottle. This was our own personal “Rube Goldberg” torture device. Not to worry though, nobody was hurt in the making of this image! Once all of our pieces were in place we were ready to begin the acting between talent and camera. This is where the real magic is! In post we played “musical heads”, swapping one expression for another. Our creative team, with a little help from my self-designed Rube Goldberg, sent our “Hands-on message in the bottle”.
