Blonde Rage...Her Side of It

Being awarded the cover of "The Vice Book",  a specialty promo publication, I wanted the photo to tell a vengeful story of vice.  Trying not to be too logical, I chose a love story gone bad, one that was very different from a path of virtue and understanding.

The affair was to be large scale for all to see. The side of a large building was a perfect stage to broadcast the state of our ladies' relationship showing that it's going astray. Our building of choice, a hi-rise, was to house the screen showing her forlorn state.  The projected bedroom scene was built in our studio and styled with mementos of the relationship…flowers and her boyfriend's photo.

We scouted several locations that looked great from the ground.  Most were different than expected when we scouted them from up high. Only one of them had surrounding buildings and openness that framed the photo for my overall background.

The rooftop ledge scene was also built in our studio using a combination of 1" plywood, cheesecloth, a mixture of Elmer's glue and water, texture paint and finally varnish for the look of granite. Top floors of hi-rise buildings are often lighted with 'spots' aiming up, as some of the buildings in the background of the "Vice" cover. I adapted that same effect to help light our enraged lady.

The wardrobe color scheme was chosen to be emotionally blue in the bedroom scene showing her being distraught and unhappy - to the hot red rage during the hi-rise ledge scene which showed the explosive anger toward her "ex".

Which leaves you to figure out the ending.  Did she lift her red stiletto sending him plummeting?

Don Levey Makes People Happy, so I still wonder why she snapped. Ah...she was acting!
