DON LEVEY MAKES PEOPLE NOT LEAN
THIS SHORT STORY DOES HAVE A HAPPY ENDING.

“I’m really going to have to lean on you this time.” That’s what my long time work associate (and friend) Peter Elmer, of Greenhouse Communications said to me concerning a short film for the “Juvenile Protective Association”, When I’m asked by a long time friend, who has a terrific idea, with a better than anything cause (the “JPA”), put together with what I love to do (shoot people) it’s a win / win – no-lean / no-lean situation , everybody involved felt the camaraderie. This project was huge, and the timeline for it’s delivery was very tight. Peter enlisted the services of his associate, Art Director Angel Espindola to help shoulder the creative and workload.

Peter and I shot video on the water drop during the week in a very quiet and controlled studio setting. The people were shot the following Saturday in a very loud, controlled setting. The obtaining, coordinating, and scheduling of our 'real' people talent was vast and very accelerated. Greenhouse miracle worker – Tracy, orchestrated the processing of over 60 people. We shot groups, doubles and singles to give Peter and Angel all the flexibility they needed when they delivered their culled choices to the editors at s2 Post. We shot over 720 captures. Because of our extremely tight schedule, I processed all the images on Sunday for delivery on Monday. Linda Yu contributed a truly befitting read to a lovely soundtrack. The edit went smoothly for Peter and crew with the pros at s2Post.

And, somewhere, in the middle of all of his,
Don Levey made people happy... again
